MEMORY HOLE is Alzheimer's disease, the disease caused by progressive degeneration of the brain. It shows a profile finely carved from a block of soapstone from Brazil whose skull is lined with small holes and most of the brain represented by an empty void that is so afraid in this disease seems tamed here, the esthetic softens the violence of the message.
This sculpture is part of a set of three sculptures on this theme.
